Ulladulla: not dulla at all (but blogging about it is getting tedious...)

Oh man i really shouldn't have left all the blogging for so long. I should have been doing it as it happened, keeping it fresh, staying on top of it. Now i'm forgetting what happened, where it happened, why it happened, and even whether or not it happened at all...

After the beach we went with Dan's 2 friends to the ex-servo's for cheap eats and a couple beers. I had a massive t-bone, side dishes and even got dessert for just $15. I quickly realized why it was only $15, as it gave me a wicked bad stomach ache.
Dan and i were considering staying in ulladulla for an extra day or so, if his friends had space at their place.
Saddly the house was kinda full, but i really need to talk about this house. Originally a house on stilts right ON mollymook beach, but the owners had filled in the stilted part to make it 2 levels. This gave the house a bit of a higgeldy-piggeldy lay out. for example, the garage that had once been under the house remained, barn style doors and all, right smack dab in the middle of it. They also added a deck and veranda to the top floor, so it really had an odd layout. Regardless, they had a place on the beach and payed only $60/week for it. How sick is that??? i need a deal like that. We went the next morning to their place after checking out of the hostel, hung out and watched a crazy video...

The Bawley Boys

essentially these guys pull Jackass style stunts, slap each other in the face with sandals, jump off roof tops onto swiss exercise balls (very entertaining), drink water untill they vomit, skull bottles of bbq sauce, light each other's hair on fire, and in between the insanity, surf some really sick waves. seriously! Any way, i laughed, cried, and felt like vomiting my self.
After leaving dan headed for pebbly beach south of ulladulla, where he *guaranteed* we would see kangaroos...
Not a single one.
The meat pies we got at he gas station were exceptional though.
We then headed to pretty beach, north of ulladulla, where he ALSO *guaranteed* we would see kangaroos...
we didn't.
I settled for him showing me a water spout. The waves crash into a crack in the rocks and the power of the waves makes the water spout up high into the air in a stream...
the wind pushed the swell down. No water spout.
Luckily, the views as we walked from pretty beach to merry beach (not far from Mount Agony, which i thought was pretty funny)were quite fantastic. Saw some impressive rock formations, snapped some pics and hopped back in the car. At some point Dan's iPod ran out of juice, so i tossed on mine and Gave him a good taste of Classic Canadian Rock. The Guess Who, BTO, Heart, and Rush provided the sound track for our trip back south.
We passed by pretty beach again (still no friggen roos!) and headed south to Narooma again for a quick kick and a swim. The kick was one of the silliest ideas we had thus far (it would later be surpassed...). We went back to the plaza and kicked under the big dome at about 4pm. We figured the temperature would have dropped enough to make a kick possible, but the dome acted like blanket, keeping all the day's warmth nestled underneath it. We trudged on and it was not a good session. After losing copious amounts of fluids we called it off and headed to Naroom surf beach. the waves were still too small to bother bringing the boards out so we just went for a swim. I remember the water being really cold and dan explained that it means a change in the currents, bringing cold water up from the south.
Back in the car and back to Bega.
Dan's dad was at the house and made us a nice dinner. We relaxed from our strenuous few days of relaxation and watched the tennis to end the night. I remember this game quite vividly. It was Federer's 6-3, 6-0, 6-0 win in the quarters over some french dude.
Humiliating...
